The Buffalo Gals are an old-school country and folk duo consisting of Melissa Carper (guitar, banjo, and bass) and Rebecca Patek (fiddle and guitar) formed in Austin, TX. The pair moved to Eureka Springs, AR where they wrote and recorded their debut Album 'Brand New Old-Time Songs' inspired by the music and nature of the Ozark Mountains. Their album reached Number 2 on the Folk Album charts for the Roots Music Report in July 2018 and reached Number 3 on the European Americana charts in August of 2018. Carper is a two-time veteran on Garrison's Prairie Home Companion and Patek a three- time winner of the Wisconsin State Fiddle Championship.

The Buffalo Gals second album 'Where the Heart Wants to Go' is set to be released in spring of 2020! says 'They are able to write and perform in a way that is completely true to the real tradition of 'country music' . . . .This is real country music performed in a way the traditionalists of old would easily recognize but this incredibly talented duo is ensuring the style is as relevant now as it would have been a hundred years ago with their subtle modernity and their own highly individual take.'

Rebecca Patek's debut album, "Come Up and Meet Me" won the 16th Independent Music Award for Best Bluegrass Album. She grew up studying bluegrass under the Tutelage of the Mecan River Ramblers in Wisconsin. She is also the fiddle player in the jug band Sad Daddy. She lives in Nashville and loves the community of players here in Music City. Some of her career highlights include playing with Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown Band), Devin Jake, Randy Sabien, and the Madison Symphony Orchestra.
