Q: What’s your address / how do I find you?
A: Our address is 129 E Hopkins St. Suite #110-120. The Taproom is located in the alley behind The Porch, off Hopkins Street, just off the square. Head down Kissing Alley or around the block to find us! Same building - different businesses - but shared a kitchen... just think of us as a two-headed dog. Or a mullet. Party in the front, burgers in the back.
Q: Do you have parking?
A: Yes, we have 5 designated parking spots behind the building in the permitted lot, but they are first come - first to park. City street parking is available for free in two hour blocks on weekdays before 6pm and always free on nights and weekends.
Q: Do you take reservations?
A: Yes! You can reserve your table at The Taproom up to three months in advance via Toast Tables. You can also call to make your reservation at 512-392-9824.
Q: How late is your kitchen open?
A: Kitchen is open until 10pm Sunday thru Thursday; until 11pm on Friday & Saturday. Our late night menu is available at The Porch 10pm - 2am each evening for shows/events.
Q: Do you allow kids?
A: Children with adult supervision are allowed at The Taproom & The Porch before 9pm. Please bear in mind that we are a bar, and we do not have changing tables, high chairs, or booster seats. You are responsible for the safety and care of your children while they are in our establishment.
Q: What is your minor policy?
A: 18+ minors are allowed at The Porch for shows without parental supervision. All minors will pay a surcharge on top of any cover fee or ticket for each show. There is no re-entry for minors. All ages shows will be incidicated on the calendar (for all ages shows, parents must be present with any child u18).
Q: What is your dog policy?
A: Dogs are welcome at The Taproom & The Porch before 9pm. For the safety of our guests and your pet, we cannot allow dogs at live music events & performances. All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6'. You are responsible for your pet while you are here.
Q: Are you hiring?
A: Maybe. It's best to come by the restaurant and ask to speak with a manager. If and when we are looking to staff up, we post job openings to our social media accounts.
Q: I completed my Around The World / World Travel card, but my quote is still not on the wall - what gives? Is the beer club still a thing?
A: Yes, we still honor and celebrate those that have completed our world traveler beer club challenge by placing your name and quote on the Wall of Fame! It generally takes us a little bit of time to post new plaques, because we have to wait for 30-40 people to complete their cards before we send to print. Have patience, grasshopper.
Q: When can I expect to get my t-shirt for completing the beer club card?
A: Upon completion of your beer challenge, you will receive a QR code to order your t-shirt in your size and have it shipped directly to your door!
Q: Do you have to be 21 to attend bingo (trivia, etc.)?
A: Yes, you have to be 21 for bingo (18+ for trivia or minors welcome with a parent or legal guardian). Unfortunately, due to the NSFW nature of our bingo game and tobacco-based prizes, we cannot allow any children or minors; even with parents.

Q: Can my TXST student group fundraise / profit share with you?
A: Yes, we happily allow student groups to fundraise or host awareness campaigns for their organization or event at The Taproom. Fundraising efforts are limited to game nights. Profit shares are limited to once/month and are booked at 3-4 months in advance. For more information, see here.

A: You will want to speak with our beverage director. They have office hours every Tuesday 4pm-7pm.
Q: Do you offer catering?
A: Our catering packages depend on the scope, date and time of your event. Please send an email to taproomsanmarcos@gmail.com with details.
Q: Do you deliver?
A: Yes, we offer delivery through DoorDash, UberEats, Favor, and GrubHub. You can order directly through those apps for delivery. We also offer pickup through our website.
Q: How do I book a show at The Porch? Can I talk to the booker?
A: Booking information can be found here. We book 2-3 months in advance, so please be patient if you've already emailed but haven't heard back. No, we do not book shows over the phone and we do not provide the buyer's number. Sorry.
Q: I’ve already emailed and they haven’t responded to me WTF?
A: The talent buyer books 2-3 months in advance so we have breathing room. Please be patient and they will email as they are able. If you don't hear from them, don't take it personally - you just might not be right for the room.
Q: I am a journalist, reviewer, tv show, influencer, etc. and have a question for the owners. How can I reach them?

Q: What year was The Taproom established?
A: The Taproom first opened on New Years Eve, December 31, 1994. David Dishman owned the bar until 1998, when Travis Kelsey and Kevin Shea purchaed it and expanded into the entire building and opened The Porch in 2013. Current owners Sara Chavez and Samantha Strahan purchased the businesses in November 2021.
